Assured 2-0 Win Over Rangers

Manchester United kicked off their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 win over Rangers at Ibrox Stadium on July 20, 2024. The Red Devils secured their first victory of the summer with goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.

New manager Erik ten Hag will be pleased with his team's performance, as they controlled large parts of the game and created numerous chances. United took the lead in the 20th minute when Sancho fired home a low shot from the edge of the area.

United doubled their advantage just before half-time when Rashford finished off a fine team move. The England international collected the ball from Bruno Fernandes and drove into the Rangers box before slotting it past Jon McLaughlin.

United continued to dominate the second half and they could have added to their tally on several occasions. However, they were unable to find the net again as the Rangers defense held firm.

The win is a positive start to United's pre-season preparations and they will now face Barcelona in a friendly on Friday, July 29.
